My position remains a moral stand. The use of drugs should be a health issue, not a criminal issue. All drugs should be decriminalized and many drugs, and their production and distribution, should be legalized. Crimes committed while under the influence are still crimes, but being under the influence itself is not.

I intend to stop using arguments about the benefits of taxation. I will point to the benefits of reducing criminal gangs and reducing the prison population. Take the money out of drugs.

exactly, Taxation wasn't meant to be my biggest argument, i also did make the point about the crime attached to drugs. all in all, i'd rather see the free market take care of stupid people who abuse drugs and see smart people get shot up by drug related gangs
