    party goals/objectives?

    Is there any sort of list of the party's goals and objectives? I'd be curious to see what we want to achieve -- either on a national or state level -- and in what time frame we're looking to do so.

    thanks!

    Hey Mike. I have this from the website: http://vawhigs.org/home/content/party-development That's it right now, but it is an area of acute interest for me. I got most of the structural stuff done, so now we are trying to build membership. I would like to build active membership (most folks are inactive) to about 20 and then with some good discussion around solutions, perhaps we could vote on them and publish them.

    cheers!

    Where are we at numbers wise....50, 100, 200?? Also, what is the difference b/w active & inactive membership?

    There are 46 members. Inactive merely means they signed up but didn't use the forums or anything. The new mailing list will hopefully allow more folks to have a voice and it seems off to a good start. Please help me build a conversation there. Thanks!

    I think the idea of getting t/g is a good idea....a few things I have seen done in the past;

    -A Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner that could include a speaker or two. Since we are close to DC, I am sure we could find someone to speak on a topic that would be of interest to a lot of people. People in other regions could try the same thing if they couldn't make it to NOVA/DC.

    -A field trip.....Nationals Game, cook-out, happy hour, etc.

    Rob - thanks for your reply and the link. Have you seen anything written up that covers national goals as well? Would be great if we could connect-the-dots between national goals (if we've got them) to state goals.

    Mike - they are putting together a national plan. They have been somewhat disorganized these past few months as a complete change in leadership occurred. I am focussed on the state for right now and hopefully some activity will occur at the national level. The Southern Chair has contacted me, so the regional leadership may make some inroads as well.

    My current goal for the state is to get conversations going and it is starting to happen, here with you guys on the forum, and on the mailing list I just started. Good stuff!

    Cheers,
    Rob

    i think it would be best to build support as of now, and maybe try to think more locally, get elected in local elections due to people knowing who you are, stuff like that
